Tan Son Nhat International Airport is the southern gateway to Vietnam which handles high number of passengers and large volume of cargo daily. It is continuously developing and improving to meet the increasing aviation needs. TCS was established for this purpose.
The Company commenced its official operations on 01 January 1997 with the majority of its staff and management cadres transferred from the Cargo Department of Tan Son Nhat International Airport Ground Handling Services (TIAGS), an enterprise belonging to Vietnam Airlines.
Since we started operations in 1997, we have been actively seeking to enhance Tan Son Nhat Airport’s position through our innovative cargo handling services and modern facilities as the largest international air cargo hub in Viet Nam.
Utilising modern information technology; fully integrating its mechanised material handling system, TCS airfreight terminal is currently able to handle over 200,000 tonnes of cargo a year with a total warehouse area of about 39,000 sq meters.
TCS provides such services as handling express cargo, coldrooms and refrigerated queue lanes to handle perishable cargo, fresh flower, vaccine, coffin,.... The sophisticated security alarm system and cameras are connected to the TCS security control center as well as the automatic fire prevention and fighting system for safeguarding of goods stored in TCS warehouses.
For 14 years of development with an average annual growth rate of about 13 percent, the Company has marked an obvious advance to become a major cargo handling operater providing good quality services and meeting the increasing needs of customers in the South of Vietnam.
Moving Forward:
In order to further develop the aviation industry and improve the quality of cargo handling services, TCS will build a 13.700 sqm Export Airfreight Terminal: Phase 2 (AFT 2) with world-class “state-of-the-art” modern material handling system capable of handling 200,000 tonnes cargo per year. This will help increase the maximum handling capacity of TCS Airfreight Terminals to 300,000 tonnes cargo per year. The terminal will include a 25-meter high warehouse and a building of 4 storeys with a total investment of nearly 15 million US dollars.
The Ground Breaking Ceremony of AFT 2 was held on 09 August 2010 and the project is targetted for completion by end September 2011.
Construction of the new terminal will allow TCS to provide even better and more efficient handling of international cargo at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, contributing effectively to the development of the aviation industry as well as the country’s economy.
